CHIEF COMPLAINT: Right knee pain. HPI: 65 y/o male presents with worsening right knee pain over the last 3 months. Pain is described as aching, worse with walking and stairs. Rates pain 7/10. EXAM: Right knee reveals mild effusion, crepitus on ROM. No erythema or warmth. IMAGING: X-ray right knee shows moderate medial compartment joint space narrowing and osteophyte formation. ASSESSMENT: Primary osteoarthritis of right knee. PLAN: Discussed treatment options. Patient elected for intra-articular corticosteroid injection. Area prepped and injected with 40mg Kenalog and 1cc 1% lidocaine without complication.
